Collection

In the library you will find cookbooks, car repair manuals, Cliff and Monarch Notes, investment and real estate books, Civil Service test manuals, classics, as well as current and best selling fiction, and many other materials. We subscribe to over three hundred and seventy magazines and newspapers. There are popular children's publications, such as Sesame Street, National Geographic World, Ladybug and Cricket. Some of our adult publications include American Scholar, PC Novice, Opera News, Road and Track, Time, People Weekly, and Newsweek. We also carry the Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, The New York Times, Newsday, Daily News, Barrons, Investors Business Daily, Commerce Business Daily, Commack News and the Long Islander among many other titles.

Please note: Our children's and adult non-fiction are shelved together. Only our picture books, easy readers, juvenile fiction, and young teen fiction are placed in the children's area.

Vertical Files

We are continually building up this supplementary collection with hundreds of materials. Included among our resources are government reports, newspaper clippings on subjects of interest, vocational materials, local history publications, maps, travel guides for numerous states and cities, pictorial materials, medical information, consumer information, and much more. All materials can be checked out for a seven day period. Please ask a librarian for assistance.

Large Print Books

The library has many large print books. We also have access to books and current magazines on cassette and records. This material, and equipment on which to play it, is available, free of charge, to qualified residents.
